Destination Wedding of Victoria and Clyne

"When a couple decides that they want to exchange their vows and celebrate their love in a dream location that they and their guests will have to travel to, they are deciding on a Destination Wedding. Destination weddings often take place in tropical areas such as the Caribbean, Mexico, or Hawaii. Others decide to celebrate their wedding in Europe, South America, or a domestic seaside location. The entire wedding party will travel to the destination and enjoy a long weekend - or an entire week - and be on vacation while attending the wedding".

The Wedding of Marianna and Martin
St. Clements Catholic Church, Chicago, IL

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph the wedding of Marianna – the daughter of Witold Kepka and a Virginia Beach artist - Barbara Kobylinska. The ceremony took place at the gorgeous St.Clements Catholic Church built in 1917-1918 in Lincoln Park, Chicago.

The wedding reception was in the Fine Art Gallery where Barbara Kobylinska recently designed the theme for Marianna’s autumn wedding reception. She created all the center pieces for the tables, and introduced large ceramic sculptures of the bride and groom to delighted wedding guests. The white origami doves peeked from underneath the ceiling while the small, red ones on the tables glanced up at the festive crowd.

If you would like to transform the everyday into the extraordinary for your very special day, she will design the center pieces and sculptures of the bride and groom-large or small, with rental options also available - or completely redesign your reception space with a personalized, artistic vision.

I have worked in ceramics for 15 years, in various studios, industrial spaces, and now in my own studio, creating organic forms, flower and bird sculptures.
My artistic training began in Warsaw, Poland in the 1970s where I received a Master’s degree in Graphic Design and later a Master’s in Costume and Stage Design at Warsaw’s Academy of Fine Arts. Since then I have been involved in many projects in various artistic fields. I was an art teacher; a children’s book illustrator; a poster, puppet, and stage designer; and finally a sculptor.

I have resided in the USA since 1981, and work in my studio in Virginia Beach, VA, creating large (4-6 foot), colorful clay birds and flowers that mirror the natural world with an abstract, fanciful twist. I form the sculptures primarily out of terra cotta clay and then glaze and add several layers of paint to achieve a bold, vibrant effect. These flowers and birds have proven unique additions to gardens and outdoor spaces, as well as larger home and industrial interiors.
