Jessica Miller/Elena Miller (Region III Champion, Stuarts Draft) 6-4, 6-3
Plawska and Lee sure didn't play like it was their first trip to the state tournament. After falling behind early in the first set, they cruised their way into tomorrow's state final, which is scheduled for 12 noon, but - pending conflicts with the team finals - could change depending on the outcome of the last doubles' semifinal. Said Coach Justin Keyes, "No matter who they play (tomorrow), they'll be the underdog. But if they play their game, they've got a chance. Anything can happen in a final."
Kristin Harter/Emily Siebert (Region IV Champion, Hidden Valley) def.

Final
Harter/Siebert def. Plawska/Lee (6-2, 6-2)
Experience was the difference in the AA tennis girls doubles championship. Harter, who also defended her state singles crown on Thursday, won her second consecutive doubles title with first-year partner Emily Siebert. For both Wiktoria Plawska and Jessica Lee, it was their state tournament debut as they became the first girls tennis players in York history to advance as far as the state tournament.
"It's easily been my most successful season, and to go out like this (in the state final) is just amazing. I have no regrets," said Lee, a senior who will attend the University of Virginia next fall. "It's been a lot of fun to do it with Wiktoria..she's an amazing player and I wouldn't have made it without her. She'll win it next season."
For Plawska, a freshman who's already become the first girls tennis player in York history to win a region singles title, the experience alone will benefit her most in the coming years.
"I'll know what to expect more," Plawska said after the match. "Things like getting motivated and pumped before matches."
